Responsibilities

The Director, Sales Training is responsible for developing a training strategy and directing its implementation to continually enhance the sales organization effectiveness for all sales channels of the Orthopedic and Tissue Technologies Division.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Design and develop a holistic approach to OTT Sales Training, including product and sales process training that meets the needs of new hires (0-3 months), current employees (3-18 months) and seasoned sales specialists.
  • In partnership with the Corporate HR and the Learning & Development Department, design and implement an ongoing assessment and development plan for all members of the sales organization.
  • Assess current training programs, tools, learning platforms and modify content and approach based on best in class practices.
  • Develop feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement and relevancy of all training program content.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills with a keen attention to detail; Possess the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Assist and take an active role in the development and management of sales career pathing.
  • Identify priority opportunities for sales training to enable specialists/managers to be prepared at all time to effectively represent the OTT Division product lines.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the accreditation system for the sales organization to ensure that each level of competency is linked to standards of job performance and reflects career development.
  • Responsible for managing all training projects within allocated budgets.
  • Partner the Marketing Department, Sales Management team in the development and implementation of all product training for sales representatives. 
  • Develop and support multiple platforms to develop continuous and flexible learning and development opportunities such as online training.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, KOLs, and Clinical Affairs in order to organize and conduct national and regional speaker-driven skills labs including cadaver courses.
  • Manage the Field Training and Classroom Training Programs to include establishing criteria for trainer selection, yearly competency testing and developmental programs for trainers.

Qualifications

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 10 years medical device/pharmaceutical sales training experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • B.A. / B.S. Degree in Business Administration, Education, Communications or Healthcare Management.
  • MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in designing training programs that incorporate adult learning concepts. 
  • Experienced at monitoring and measuring sales training effectiveness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with other departments to accomplish sales training goals.
  • Exceptional written, oral and presentation skill.  Strong platform and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to orchestrate projects and meet deadlines
  • Willing to travel 20-30% of the time.
