Responsibilities

The Planner/Buyer is responsible for the timely procurement of raw material to meet the production schedule or customer shipments. This buying position is also responsible for artwork tracking, and Lean DNA metrics. 

  • Maintain spreadsheet containing all updates, approval status and vendor notifications for artwork changes or artwork for new products
  • Back up China buyer position
  • Back up St. Louis buyer position
  • Back up for Raw Material buyer position
  • Provide sales with Inventory and Delivery reports as required
  • Maintenance weekly safety stock dashboard
  • Maintenance lean matrix, safety stock, back orders, plant attainment, manufacturing variance
  • Prepare and process customer paperwork as a back up to purchasing clerk
  • Track annual cost changes in Misys
  • Performs any other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study required
  • 5+ years of experience in materials and manufacturing
  • Experience using MRP systems and general computer literacy
  • Flexibility and openness to change
