    Responsibilities

    The position is primarily responsible for managing information resources for the research and development, engineering, clinical and medical organizations within Integra LifeSciences. The aim of this new position is to establish and optimize information resource management systems to provide the technical knowledge users with easily accessible information and technical standards, including: journals, articles, patents, books, internal documents and dark web resources.

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily: 

    • Provide leadership for establishing and maintaining adequate information resource management solutions.
    • Maintain and manage existing databases (e.g. clinical and R&D journal database)
    • Plan and execute transition e to entirely electronic systems.
    • Provide technical literature service to Global Clinical Affairs and R&D colleagues.
    • Maintain corporate online research library.
    • Manage database and journal subscriptions.
    • Manage relationship with information providers and information system vendors.
    • Develop procedures related to scientific information management activities, and provides internal training.
    • Operate solely in compliance with the policies, procedures and laws which govern Integra
    • Adhere to strong moral and ethical principles, treating fellow employees with respect and dignity.
    • Work with interdisciplinary teams to provide required information resources.
    • Manage the development of detailed project plans and budgets and be accountable for executing in accordance with them. 
    • Provide leadership for the information resource management activities for the CSO group across a diverse set of technological and business elements by applying sound information resource management tools and techniques.
    • Employ excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with all levels of personnel and management to facilitate information flow between team members and senior management.
    • Effectively implement problem solving skills and techniques to identify potential issues, assess their impact, and develop and implement mitigation and resolution plans and activities.
    • As assigned, help support other departments and divisions, serving as a knowledgeable resource of process control and review.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.



    Qualifications

    DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

     

    Education: a library degree (Master in Library Science, Master of Librarianship) or information management (Master in Library and Information Science, Master of Science in Information Management) or other related Master’s degree that is accredited by the American Library Association, the American Association of School Librarians or foreign equivalent (e.g. Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals),

    Experience: 4 years experience in an information management related field, preferably in corporate and/or academic biomedical and/or clinical environment.

    • Demonstrated aptitude for successfully managing multiple projects, of varying complexity, within the specified guidelines and timeframes.
    • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with the ability to achieve top performance from inter-functional project teams.
    • Successful track record in development of information resource services and project management.
    • Expert in advanced scientific literature search and retrieval using various abstract and citation databases, including but not limited to Medline, Scopus, Sciverse and Embase.
    • Expert in copyright compliance and rights management related to digital scientific, technical and medical information sources.
    • Must have a combined ability for excellent communication, organizational and project management skills with a high level of technical ability
