    The Manager of Design Engineering will lead a team of Design Engineers in the design of orthopedic medical devices and related instrumentation.


    • Plan, coordinate, and monitor work of the Design Engineering group to support product development and sustaining engineering activities.
    • Establish goals for the group to help project teams meet short and long term objectives of the business.
    • Create development plans for Design Engineers to build and retain top talent and fill gaps in skill sets.
    • Establish training requirements for department and ensure compliance to policies and standard operating procedures.
    • Collaborate with other managers to identify and implement process improvements.
    • Contribute to the development of design inputs and product specifications based on marketing needs and surgeon input.
    • Translate design inputs into working 3D models and detailed drawings.
    • Incorporate design for manufacturability to reduce cost and improve product yields.
    • Provide technical information to marketing to support the development of marketing tools such as brochures, technical bulletins, and surgical techniques.


    • Associates Degree in technical area preferred, though not required if offset by sufficient work experience.
    • Minimum 10 years of design engineering experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
    • Prefer 5 years of supervision or management experience.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, possess multitasking capability, and be able to work independently
    • Must be detail-oriented and be a creative problem solver.
    • Advanced design skills with CREO or other design software.
    • Proficiency in application of GD&T.
    • Experience with CREO and SolidWorks preferred
