    Responsibilities

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

     

    Primary responsibilities are to:

    • Oversee the day-to-day management of accounting activities including transactions, policies, controls and procedures and escalate issues to Controller
    • Assist Controller in driving the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
    • Assist in the preparation of the standard monthly management reports. Perform detailed monthly variance analysis impacting the P&L on items in the P+L and balance sheet.
    • Lead the accounting team in developing explanations on actual versus budget departmental spend variances. Provide results to department heads and offer guidance for improvements.
    • Participate in the monthly financial close process for the local ledger, including preparation of the monthly journal entries, Account reconciliations and analysis on general ledger account balances.
    • Manage Fixed Asset Process, tracking CIP from Project approval to Asset Capitalization. Lead process of performing yearly Fixed Asset Count.
    • Support financial compliance requirements, including the SOX 404 program and internal and external audits (US GAAP and statutory, as appropriate).
    • Provide support to overall accounting team in development and rolling of standard costs, through work order variance analysis and PPV analysis.
    • Other tasks and projects, as assigned.

    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, MBA or CPA a plus
    • Experience: 6+ years of manufacturing and/or corporate accounting experience.
    • Experience in variance analysis and commentating on Management FP&A reports highly desirable.
    • Inventory experience required, cost accounting experience highly desirable.
    • Experience with a fully-integrated ERP system required such as Oracle ERP.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, performing accounting tasks and providing financial information on a timely basis.
    • The individual must be highly detail oriented with strong computer skills, particularly intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
    • Ability to work with minimal direction from management.
